The difference is tkachuk was not staying and was only going to extend with certain teams I havent seen that yet from barzal

Yeah I don’t think you can use the Tkachuk trade as an example. Half the reason Florida made that deal was to get five years younger and I think Calgary needed to complete a trade before his qualifying offer was accepted.

Also he’s publicly said he wants to stay. IK guys can say whatever they want but if he stays then he’s a god just cause he didn’t leave.

Sure it’s a “fair” trade but there’s no incentive for the isles to make this trade and get older and slower - plus you’re committing to Miller as he starts to decline

There is a 0% chance this would be enough
