If it's a short 1 year deal, sign me the f' up for overpaying all the way to 9m. 2 year deal, 7m, tops. Anything from 3 -5 years and the AAV needs to drop significantly to 6.5m or less and anything more than 5 years, no thanks.

If you will remeber all the way back to the 2022 playoffs, Kadri took out the Blues starting goalie. David Perron was the guy who shouldered the whole team and jumped Kadri.

Honestly maybe a one year deal but why at that point? To what potentially make playoffs and get punted first round and come out with a worse pick in the draft and take a spot that should be for a young guy. We have so many forwards now that it's going to be tough enough for our young guys to get any NHL time this season unless we get hit hard with injuries.

Friedman has predicted Bertuzzi getting traded to Toronto the last 3 TDLs and the last 2 offseasons before this offseason. I don't know if he has made the same prediction this offseason but I haven't cared enough to look.

Honestly I thought Zetterberg could've retired in the 2 previous seasons and I wouldn't have been surprised. Detroit actually lost assets when Datsyuk left he was on a 35+ contract and Holland dumped it on Arizona.
