Canes pass, we aren’t paying to take on a worse and more expensive defender

Canes laugh and hard. For Pesce, we're talking Hellebuyck, Connor, Ehlers, or a dead line on the phone. He plays very comparable minutes to Slavin ES and on the PK, babysits Skjei, and is a RHD, which are the most valuable position in hockey that isn't a 1C. This is WOEFUL

He definitely returns more than that pile of crap though

He’s plays a premium position and is on a great contract for a contending team, not moving him for anything less than a top line forward. They refused to move him for Laine a couple years ago

Ya, no thanks. Boston has surplus of LD and lack of decent FWDs under 25. This is the exact opposite of the type of trade they’d make.
Dekes liked this.

it wasn't just pesce for laine 1 for 1 the trade was

pesce+necas for laine and at that time
pesce had come off one of his best seasons yet and necas as well had his highest ppg season while laine had arguably his worse season in his career producing his lowest ppg and also was threatening to leave columbus.

He makes 4 for 2 years on one of the best teams in the league. If you want him. pay the price. If not, cool. We'll keep him. He'll return more than this

Florida declines. Reinhart put up way better numbers, both offensively and defensively. And he is under contract for two years instead of one! There is nothing in there for Florida
