Now I get why BUF wouldn’t be interested with Power and Dahlin but Girard’s value is significantly higher than the CF community wants to give him credit for. What are the most desirable traits for a young dman in the NHL now? Being able to move the puck, strong skating, defensive acumen and size are at the top of the list, Girard has 3 of those and arguably the 3 most important. It isn’t Girard’s fault and no reflection of his value that COL got a generational dman in Makar who blocked his path to being the qb of PP1.

Again, you'll be changing your tune this year, he would have made the team last year out of camp but was hurt. He's a former high pick who has gotten better every year since the draft.

As I said, buffalo has a young defense core and isn't trading prime assets for girard.
