I don't see how majorly over paying for a guy helps new Jersey?

I'd rather just roll with the stacked defence if that's the cost for Miller.

Because it’s a completely fair trade and not close to an overpay

I agree with this - if an extension were in place for JT Miller. If that were the case, I would jump on this if I were NJ.

They have plenty of room to extend him

Oh ok, I didn't realize Miller was going to get more than Eichel, Debrincat and Fiala just to name a few younger high profile players that were recently traded in the last year.

That return package is nowhere near the value of the Eichel package. Stillman and Walsh are nothing special

Two prospects that aren’t major and a RHD you don’t need and probably won’t resign. You’re giving up a 1st and some depth pieces

Well let's break it down

Tuch > Severson, that would be a wide margin but their position plays a big factor into value.
Vegas 2022 1st at the time = Stillman
Krebs > Walsh considering age.
2023 1st more than makes up the value difference of the second

What has Stillman done since his draft year to maintain his stock?

It's just too much for Jersey give up on a rental player. I don't think they're in "one player away" territory yet so it would make more sense to focus those assets on other moves instead of getting a guy who helps them -maybe- sneak in as the 8th seed.

They are the only team that would have a shot at resigning him that could actually trade for him this year
