Better than your current 3C and probably slides into top 6 if somebody moves to the wing. Toews would be torontos 6th best forward.

Patience and not missing on trading your biggest assets.

1. Cap Space
2. Kane
3. Connor Murphy
4. Toews

With all due respect you can’t expect to get more for Kane then you did for DeBrincat. Giroux trade is ur best comparison imo.

Tbh Toews isn’t the player he once was. I think u r overvaluing him but taking back Muzzin does change things.

I’m not even a chicago fan. Objectively I think that is fair return for kane. Cant use bad trades as benchmarks for a return. This season pacioretty was traded for nothing yet people aren’t using it as a benchmark for trades with vegas. It hiked up the value of cap space for sure but giving up guys like that for free is a rare sight. Tbh I think the cat trade was chicago being desperate and a trade at the TDL or before the season will have the buyer being desperate.

I disagree that you get two firsts for him. I’d say he’s worth exactly what Giroux is. Kane is probably a better player but positional value makes up for the difference here.

5.25 million dollar 34 year old 3c at the cost of a top 4 defender, first and a good prospect. That wouldn't make sense if toews wasnt washed. And no, he wouldn't be the leafs 6th best forward

The leafs arnt moving muzzin to get back another bad contract, especially if they are adding heavily

I agree in part but if ur shedding a year that’s not bad value. Like I might move a first and a good prospect with Muzzin to get kane. I wouldn’t do it for Toews cause they have no cap space whatsoever.

You’re not getting COL’s top forward prospect for DomI if COL really wanted Domi they would have just signed him because I’m sure as heck that if he took a 3M deal if COL or any other contender offered 2M he would have taken it.

Why is Calgary paying premium for cap space when there is no one on tue market left?

Athanasiou doesn't get Colton nevermind Colton+ 2
mid round picks his first full season Colton scored 22playing 3-4 line minutes and has 31 in his first 109games and been on the upswing . This is dumb for TB

A lot more don't than do, and not everyone who does is playing for the team he grew up dreaming of playing for. Especially to a team that has zero chance of winning in the near future

No, a lot more do wave. It's significantly more common for a player to waive. That's why it's such a kerfuffle when it doesnt happen, and just because he may not waive to a lotto team doesn't mean there isnt anothet that would want him

Hornqvist and McDonagh are the only recent ones I can think of more are like Dadonov who exercised a M-NTC.
Generally you don't hear about those though
