He shouldn’t be a cap dump but this trade market is weird af. If I had to guess Lou has already got a deal in place to trade Beau and Bailey if he’s got a deal to sign Kadri. If anything the reason he would wait to make the move official is cause he wants to make another acquisition too.

sadly id say this is likely the low end of total dollars, as id imagine Kadri likely still expects around 50M total dollars. AAV down slightly maybe but full 7 years? who knows.

i kinda doubt it, i think klingberg’s set a precendent here that GMs aren’t about to spend. you never know with lou but i’d be surprised if this was low end. maybe low end of what kadri would have wanted but if someone was offering 50mil total dollars i think he’d have signed already

i hate signing players to contracts we’ll regret in 3 years and giving up major assets to dump the cap to do so. it’s not as black and white as that.
