Dobson will get way more on an 8 years deal and Romanov will get closer to 2.5M IMO
You could bridge Dobson around 5.5M IMO

i doubt dobson takes that. Anything at 8 years he probably wants 7.5-8.5M. Also, highly doubt Kadri ends with less than 40M total dollars paid in this deal

He could have them all signed already, the reason why he doesn't file right away is so that he doesn't go over the cap and lose leverage in trades.

Let’s be realistic here. Bolduc is a former second coming off an injury. Hes a good prospect who is worth at least his draft slot.. You want to trade him and a future second to jump Josh Bailey and Richard Panik?

Just a quick reminder that Ladd took two seconds to dump and he’s the far worse player. This deal would represent a complete and total failure in asset management on Lou’s behalf.

    Isles say no.

And that’s why he won’t have to dump bailey. Dude shouldn’t be a cap dump anyway imo.

I’m just saying we got Canadians fans on here asking for a second round pick for Hoffman. They r asking for a first round pick for Anderson. But isles fans want to dump bailey for two seconds even tho he’s better than both guys. I’m not saying that we should all be unreasonable. I’m just saying that Bailey has more value than you think. Both in reality and in comparison to other posts on here.

I'm guessing he will move Beau since MTL has already expressed interest but they are in a cap in cap out situation themselves as long as they don't know if Price is in or out. They will likely have to move a big csp like Bailey as well but idk if it would have to be him specifically if they move Beau.

Maybe, I just noticed Bellows doesn't have an arbitration date, so guessing he signed before the deadline to file. They have 11m or so in cap, if Dobson gets 6m, Bellows 3m, and Romanov for 2.5m, that would take up the entirety of the 11m and a bit more. So, moving out ~8m is probably necessary after signing Kadri, and having another extra 1m or so will give them room for a 7th D. Moving out Beau+Bailey seems like the clearest path to that.

I think that would have been announced already if it was that low, but yeah perhaps he gives him a 1-year deal at something low or maybe he bridges Dobson for 3 years at gets him at 4m or something and that would allow them to move someone else instead of Beau.

He brought in the big shiny toy from FA though lol, I'm sure though if he's trading Beau, the return would be worth it.

Maybe that’s why Bjorkstrand couldn’t be moved. Lou has secret deals with everyone except Seattle lol.

To me moving a center would make sense, maybe Pageau or even Nelson perhaps to one of the teams who were in on Kadri. They are going to need some cap for Wahlstrom next season as well, and I'm guessing Beau's value isn't too high anyways atm, so they could move Beau the following season if necessary or just keep him.

Honestly that makes no sense either. I’m not even convinced Nelson is worse than Kadri. I would be pissed if Lou did this.

Yeah, Nelson isn't worse than Kadri, but doesn't mean they won't get a player just as good in a different position. I think Nelson's NTC is a full one so it won't be too easy to move him at 6m, I don't think they would though anyways unless it was worth it. They would be better off just dumping Bailey and Beau.

He’s got a 16 team no trade List. But trading him isn’t a good idea if ur gonna replace him with someone older and more expensive.

Scoring wingers are a dime a dozen in the NHL now and guys like Bjorkstrand and Pacioretty got literally nothing in return and JVR was rumored to require a first to take on. Going to take a lot more to get rid of someone like Bailey (with 2 years left on his deal and a fair amount of actual salary still to be paid) than people think imo
