Miller is staying til deadline

Created by: stennybro
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 1, 2022
Published: Aug. 1, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
At deadline, flip Miller to whatever team is looking for a pure rental, and acquire a haul similar to Calgary Toffoli trade (but better), Palmieri trade (2021, but better). These rentals, who a notably less impactful than Miller, assuming he is still ppg next year, both returned more than a first round pick, which I would be okay with at the deadline.

Once miller is moved, shift Roy to center his own line

I actually agree with this, same with Kane and tires situation.one way to get around these flat caps is ship them out at deadline when moving contracts is much easier

I think JT Miller may actually stay with Canucks until after the trade deadline and after Canucks are eliminated from the playoffs........Stand Pat Allvin and Rutherford have presently over-valued his worth and no other team in the NHL actually seems very interested in trying to pay an inflated price to acquire him from the Canucks.

teams know much more where they stand at the deadline, compared to where they stand before the season starts. Once these teams begin to believe they have a reason shot at playoff success, they will dish out better packages for miller. This likely means less young roster players coming back (teams in playoff pushes dont want to give up roster players), which would mean the deal would be largely futures. In my dream canucks world, this is what I would like the miller return to be anyways, which makes me all the more happy to wait it out.

Of course, we all know that now that I have finally come to accept keeping miller into the season, he will be traded by the end of the week!
