Nope lol I'm calling you Mike Grier because you said SJ is not in the market for a goalie.

I mean they aren’t gonna be competitive next year so I don’t see your point here

-Palmieri has a full NTC and I can't imagine him waiving to move 3,000 miles away when he's literally playing for his hometown team, and just had a kid on the Island.

-Both sides say no. If Colorado is moving Girard, they're doing it to create cap space - and this trade at best is cap-neutral for them. 3C isn't really a need for them either so Pageau isn't a guy I see them targeting. On the Islanders side, it's too much to pay for Girard - he's a fine player, but giving up your best defensive center and a 2nd rounder is more than I'd want to spend to turn Romanov-Salo at LD2-3 into Girard-Romanov.

-Sharks don't have the cap space to go from Reimer ($2.25M) to Varlamov ($5M), and that's before you get to the idea that they most likely want to move one of their 3 goalies without getting another back. Even beyond the cap and roster logistics issues, pretty much every move San Jose has made this summer screams "we don't plan on contending this year" and teams in that position typically don't sacrifice picks to make small upgrades in goal.

Lastly, I can't picture Kadri signing for $7M AAV and playing 3C. If they're paying him that much, they're going to find a way to mess up their top 6 by playing Barzal or Nelson on the wing with Nazem Kadri's Decline Years at 1C/2C.

Sharks aren’t moving their best goaltender and a 3rd for basically the same goaltender but more expensive and still leaves them with 3 goalies? Confusing deal to say the least
