JT Miller has more points than Barzal in the regular season with superior line mates. Barzal has more playoff success than Miller does and he’s four years younger.

You can’t tell me JT Miller is better than Barzal cause he doesn’t win ****. I’m not talking about cups here. I’m talking about the fact Barzal has missed the playoffs twice in his career and Miller has missed the past two seasons.

I guess it's better than the horrific Dobson to Vancouver trades people have been posting, but not much.

While yes it’s a horrific trade for the Isles, comparing players by whether their team makes the playoff or not seems silly to me

I’m not saying it’s the only measure of a players talent. I’m just saying it’s a key factor in any discussion. Barzal is a better player than Miller in a worse situation. And he’s gone on deep runs in the playoffs with basically no support from his wings.

Let’s be real here. Where do Anders Lee and Kyle Palmieri slot in on Vancouver? Maybe Lee is a second liner. Palmieri is def outside the top six. Beau is probably outside the top six. All I’m trying to say is there are external factors here which make it difficult to compare the two players based on point production.

I agree point production isn’t the best way to compare the players based on their situations. Barzal would probably produce similar numbers to Miller if he had the same linemates and played under a system that wasn’t as defensive as Trotz’s. I think you can still argue Miller is currently the better player, but Barzal is definitely more valuable

You can argue Miller is better but based on when I saw Vancouver play this season that wasn’t my impression. Again I only c the isles play them twice a year and I probably saw ten games tops.
