Because there is absolutely nothing Vancouver needs less then wingers and more then defence. It makes the Canucks so much worse.

Actually, despite his 3.4m cap hit, his salary is only 700k. Assuming there's a buyer that isn't on his NTC, he's a great add for a team like Arizona, Anaheim, Chicago or Buffalo, who just want a body on the roster for a year
