That trade with NJ is still just as terrible for Vancouver as it was when you posted it ten minutes ago.

Miller > Severson. Van 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Hoglander > Bratt. It's not even close.

Devils aren’t buying rentals
Devils aren’t extending Miller
Devils aren’t selling Bratt
Devils aren’t buying more picks

Severson could be available, we don’t really know. Probably a deadline call.

I agree
Devils wouldn't want to trade Bratt
Canucks rather keep the cheaper Hoglander and picks

Base of Severson+ for Miller makes sense

Even worse for Vancouver. Trading a 99 point player, a young middle six forward, multiple draft picks including a first for an older rental d man, and another winger. The gap between Miller and Severson is large. I wouldn’t trade Hoglander and those picks for Bratt. Before this season, Bratt was just another third liner or fringe second line winger. No reason Hoglander can’t break out like Bratt did. Just horrendous for Vancouver

Let’s put this into perspective, the Canucks give up the best player in the trade by a long shot yet are still adding a first and a 21 year old middle six winger with 2 years of NHL experience

Bratt point pace over 82 games
Year 1: 39
Year 2: 53
Year 3: 44
Year 4: 54
Year 5: 79

Third liner?

Before this season Bratt was exactly that. Consistent 30-35 point player. Doesn’t exactly blow my socks off. The fact that he rarely ever played a full 82 games is also concerning

You're completely ignoring the games played which is stupid. The not playing 82 games are due to a various of reasons including Visa issues, sickness, etc so also bad logic

The "not playing 82 games" is not concerning because alot of the things that prevented him from not playing are out of his control

I know that’s out of his control but benign injury prone like that is definitely concerning if a team were to trade for him. Are you telling me that players injury prone history should be ignored? He put up points at a decent pace but real points is what matters. He hasn’t really shown that he can stay healthy which means that it is very difficult for him to reach his ceiling

Well he’s missed that many games over the seasons so clearly he can’t stay healthy. That will definitely impact his effectiveness. Can’t contribute to the team when you’re out with illness or injury. I’m not saying Bratt is a bad player, but he has had one very good season and that’s about it.

Im assuming you didn't read this. Kinda concerning I have to explain this to you

2021-22 = Played 76 games; missed games due to Covid (can't control)
2020-21 = Played 46/56 games; missed games to complications with Visa during covid year (can't control + healthy)
2019-20 = Played 60 games; can't find information from this year
2018-19 = Played 51 games; The ONE year he was injured
2017-18 = Played 74 games; very solid for a rookie

Where is this can't stay healthy nonsense coming from? This conversation is going no where based on your lack of knowledge about Bratt

It doesn’t take a scientist to see that Bratt rarely has played a full season. Throughout his career, he was a consistent 30-35 point player. I am not wrong. Sure he was on pace for more but does that really matter? Sure he can have an amazing pace consistently but he needs to put up a full season before I can say that. He did that this season but this is his only actually good season in his career. A bit concerning that you still don’t get my point

I guess that means Boeser is a mid 40-50 point winger that has rarely played a full season and has injury concerns

You can't really say that when the entire league didn't play full seasons in 2 out of his 5 years. Maybe the reason he only had 30-35 points the last two years was not because missed games due to injury but because the team only played 69 and 56 games in each season? The only year where he missed significant time due to injury and not covid related stuff was 2018-19. It's not his fault for not playing a full 82 game season when the season was not 82 games lol.
