They’ll try and move Bailey and it’s probably going to take more than a 2nd and a bum for Beau

Was thinking the same thing. Could also see Minnesota trying to trade for Beau. I betting bailey cost too much to move or it would've been done already.

Isles will trade Bailey first even if it costs them a Bellows/2nd round pick

I figured I’d get some push back slipping Glendening in there lol

Bjorkstrand is better but Columbus is stupid. How do we split the difference?

Yeah bc columbus was ~4m over the damn cap. Isles have currently 11m in cap space with just dobson romanov and a sub 1m dman to add.

Dobson will take a fat chunk out of that. Romanov won’t be expensive but he won’t be anywhere close to $750k either. Then you have the unofficial Kadri extension. Unofficial cuz they prolly saw what happened to Lumbus. Who should have took a bite of pillow and added a legit asset to Nyquist. Horrible asset management. Bjork is a stud

I think the deal for Robo is WAY too low. I think he gets around $8M/yr.

8M/year will be the around the AAV he gets on a long term deal, if its a bridge deal like proposed here the AAV will prob be around 6-7m.

I think Stankoven is the furthest of the three big prospect from being NHL ready. I feel like Bourque or Johnston will get a shot this year and Stankoven will get his opportunity next year.

It’s a question mark for all three. So I just do different looks here and there. I like the idea of Benn with Stank. I like the idea of Bourque with Guri. Want to see Wyatt with JRob and Hintz if Pavs isn’t here next year. So on

Kadri is complete speculation at this point. They arent selling low on beau for no reason other than you want him. If they sign kadri thats a different story but until that happens your logic is flawed.

Beau has been rumored to be available. Like you said all speculation but that’s kinda what this website is for. No need to get spicy

There was nothing 'spicy' there. But either way it seems like the point has been lost on you. Bjorkstrand was dealt way under market value because they were well over the cap. The isles arent, and whether or not theres speculation and whether or not that becomes reality it doesnt change the fact that NYI in this hypothetical and CBJ are dealing in 2 completely different markets.
Also there havent been any rumors that beau is available. There have been rumors that the isles are making a big move (whether that was gaudreau or rn maybe kadri) and you had people without any inside info speculating that beau might be on the move to clear cap.

The point hasn’t been lost on me. I understand all of that. But by all means continue to talk to me like an idiot. Clearly I just think he’s available cuz I want him. Not because there is a chance (yes yes yes pure speculation) they need to move some cap and Beau (yes who is a player I like) is a way they can do that without having to add future assets. Yes the Columbus situation was different. They handled that very poorly. The Isles seem to be taking a better approach. I highly doubt Dallas is doing anything else other than Robertson and Oettinger at this point. But it’s fun to throw ideas around. Like I said that’s what this site is for. If you wanna run around telling everyone their logic is flawed you’re gonna be very busy here lol

Ill say it again. You can keep trying to play the victim but i dont have any issue with what you said here. Like i said my issue was with the bjorkstrand comparison bc i dont think that trade has any effect on beaus market. Thats all i wanted to say maybe i didnt say it clearly maybe it was misinterpreted but thats all i meant.

That’s fair. I didn’t mean it as “Bjorkstrand only got this so you guys are screwed and have to give away Beau for pennies on the dollar”. I’m actually very curious to see how the rest of the offseason plays out. There’s a lot of teams that need to move cap and a lot of GMs not happy about the cost of moving cap. I feel like the option is to pay a steep price to move a meh player or trade a good player for less value. Which is where my thought process of Beau for a second came from. I wasn’t trying to play the victim but parts of your comments came across as condescending. It they weren’t intended that way I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. Cheers

Thats fair but i think theres a third option. And its similar to what ARI did last summer. Theres a bunch of teams that need yo move cap but theres also a bunch of teams that are willing to take cap for assets. A lot of people thought arizona lost a bunch of trades last year and got too little to take on cap. (Specifically the ladd deal didnt include a 1st, people thought ghost would need a 1st, and the VAN deal was a weird one) but what ended up happening is arizona got all the cap dumps. Stralman, ladd, ghost, roussel, eriksson, beagle. I think you might see a team take less to take on cap to try to capture the market and get all the cap dumps. Its true that ARI didnt get any 1sts for straight cap dumps (they moved OEL and garland back to VAN) but they had like half the 2nd round. I think you might see a team this year try to replicate that.
