    I thought Batherson was actually cleared of being involved. But Formenton is still definitely in the hot seat.

    I don't know. I really, really don't think this happens, regardless of the outcome, but if it does, y'all are going to really miss Connor Brown.

    Pretty sure the only 3 yet to say anything are Formenton, Batherson and the Devils Michael McLeod (Not saying anything doesnt mean guilty but it is odd those are the only 3 to not say anything yet)

    Got to think they get blacklisted if they're found guilty. The game of Hockey needs to make examples out of those involved

    Sets a scary precedent if they get found guilty and arent banished from the league for life

    If Ottawa wants to be competitive, they can't just not replace those guys. Watson 3RW isn't gonna cut it.

    I don't disagree, but I'd be really, really surprised if, for the first time in history (that I can remember at least), a sports league took a legitimate stand instead of putting talent over being an a-hole.

    I hope they see the fumbled (pun 100% intended) Watson/NFL saga going on and set things right with this.

    Hockey Canada is going to get completly blown up because of this, I've seen some notable people say they think Canada needs to be temporarily barred from international events due to this.

    I think the fact Batherson and Formenton play in Canadas capital makes it more likely they get blacklisted if theyre guilty.

    I hope the Sporting world can get this right for once, it needs to so so badly, not just for Hockey but for all sports.

    Something I noticed, I used to brag about our prospects playing for team Canada and even went as far as saying Comtois being the captain of that team as a huge positive for his value, scary to see how wrong that could have been

    I think it's pretty likely both were involved. I think Formenton was almost assuredly involved. I think there's maybe a little more reason for hope with Batherson just because surely Ottawa wouldn't have moved Connor Brown if they anticipated losing Batherson. From a fan perspective, they're both pretty much dead to me at this point though. Hope they aren't involved, but if they are they can go spend the rest of their career rotting in Siberia for all I care. Mentally they aren't even part of the team to me anymore, least until the facts come out.

    I mean, they banned Slava Voynov for beating his wife to a pulp... but that was a Russian incident... even then, teams still inquired about his services after his contract was terminated.

    Difficult to cheer for a team when there are a bunch of idiots playing for them. Man, the offseason was going so great too...

    It depends on how the team handles it, which at this point its totally out of their hands. However it shakes out, I can't imagine it being swept under the rug while the Melnyk Daughters are the owners. I don't think this is going to be a Randy Lee situation, there's no Eugene shelling out money to hire a shady defense attorney to defend a Sex Pest.

    @ceeque84
    @Salzy

    ICYMI, Global News reached out to each player of the roster. Here is the link to their responses to Global (written 16-Jul, last update 21-Jul): https://globalnews.ca/news/8935781/hockey-canada-alleged-sex-assault-probe-player-responses/

    Maybe there is another news story out there that has more updates on player responses but that was the best reputable one I could find.

    Agreed. In fairness it's baseball season so I'm not wildly interested at this point regardless.

    Absolutely. On the flip side, there was no real NHL impact for Mailloux (he was suspended for part of the season in the CHL). This would certainly send a message though, which they should (regardless of who was involved).

    All of that being said, I'm going to wait until the names inevitably come out before I go crazy accusing Bath and Formenton.

    I said as such after the Brown trade

    That it was really stupid to DUMP Connor Brown at lowest value timing while we're not sure what is going to happen with the scandal

    But Dorion gonna Dorion. If he knows both are innocent then no problem but how does he know that?

    Agreed and Batherson is one of my favorite players. Formenton's speed is a treat to watch but rapists shouldn't be anywhere near the NHL. Guys like Evander Kane shouldn't be as well, and not because of gambling problems and a fake vaccination card

    Just clean the league from crap people, they don't deserve anywhere near a privileged life. Same for Logan Mailloux actually, he should get his "second chance" in a much more modest decorum. Jake Virtanen I don;t know his story enough and how many women have accused him. Hopefully no one hires him

    Yeah, I was legitimately surprised that Brown was moved...Like, I like Greig and everything, but aside from Ottawa not wanting to be a (closer to the) cap team, I don't know why you move a solid 3rd liner out, especially when you've gotta know that even with the additions, your forward depth is going to be in trouble if you have any injuries.

    Should have waited... Brown was not going to receive any check until October
