Lmao Panthers decline. That was Reinhart's price before last year when he would've been the Leafs' 3rd best scorer

Is the 2024 draft supposed to be deep? I've heard nothing about it. Everyone's just talking about -23

Too much for Scheifele, and if the Leafs were trading Matthews, it should be for a 1C, not some overvalued players (prime targets would be guys like Hughes and Zegras). If Matthews wants to go to Arz, he will sign another 5 year deal, and go there after the new arena is built and the rebuild is ending.

I don't see the Scheifele deal as an overpayment, unless you're over-rating Sandin.

The AZ deal isn't too bad IMO. Steadys the D, Crouse is a big bodied 20 goal scorer, Guenther is a top prospect and the Leafs get a very good shot at Bedard!

Easy no for Winnipeg. The Jets have no incentive at all to downgrade from two years of a PPG 1C to get 2 years of a much lesser winger just to get a LD they have no need of and a late pick.

The Leafs wouldn't get a first for Sandin if they wanted to trade him but any team would want that for their former first round picks who are busts and Sandin is still young and shows promise. Nylander was a PPG on a bad year (even though it was a career year) and Scheifele is a PPG player at most, he plays a prime position so of course they will have to add but Nylander+Sandin is more than enough considering that the two main guys are in similar contract situation, Scheifele is slightly older. So, it's just paying for the prime position.

As for the Matthews trade, assuming they are going to leave the pick unprotected, the chances that they are a bottom 3-team would be reduced with Matthews on their team, and you don't trade a sure thing for a gamble.
