Could he become the all-time point producer for Dmen in the Tournament?

I’m sure (insert EXTREMELY finnish/swedish name from the 80s or 90s) has like 25 points from 3 or 4 tournaments so he’d probably need to put up over 2 points per game. Or did ryan ellis break that record? I forget, but regardless it’d probably be difficult to break in two tournaments. 11 is a lot of points for a D in one tournament though

Ellis is #1 with 25. Zellwegar would need 14 to tie him

lol I just looked it up, (extremely finnish/swedish name that played in 3 or 4 torunaments) are 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Anyway 15 to beat Ellis is maybe doable, there should be two super easy round robin games against Germany (no Florian Bugl, Alexander Blank, Luca Munzenberger, Maksymilian Szuber, or Maximilian Glotzl, who were their best players this year and include 3 solid defensemen and a great goalie, so it'll basically be Julian Lutz + Nikita Quapp and that's it) and Austria (Marco Kasper and Vinzenz Rohrer will likely be there, but they're losing Sebastian Wraneschitz, so they'll have to pull another goalie out of their ass). If Canada can put up double digits in both those games and like 7 in the QF he's got a shot. I don't think Czechia will even be as easy an out as they were this year though, almost their entire roster is eligible to return, only Michal Gut, Jan Mysak, and Ivan Ivan Ivan (only relevant because of his name though) are gonna age out among the skaters, and Eduard Sale will likely draw in (top 10 potential in the 2023 draft). 2 of their goalies age out (including Jan Bednar), but Tomas Suchanek will be back. They should be good again, so we probably won't be dropping 5 or 6 on them and Finland in group play again.

Why should we lock it?
We can still talk about it
Let ppl who aren't active today talk about it tomorrow or something
It's not like we are at the page limit

We still have a prospect thread.

I'll give this one another day but the tournament is over. We can't keep it around forever.

Johnson had it coming, most shots in the tournament

To be fair, he shoulda had 4 goals that game and it was mostly his fault that he didn’t. You could make a top 20 of all the one-timers he missed that game and still not include the pump fake to the middle that he overshot lol. He needs to work on his aim, like very badly

Love the fact the Winnipeg Jets congratulated Lambert on “winning” silver when he was benched for the semis and finals.. just seems funny to me.

Yeah, I’ve taken back my stance on Lambert, kid seems to have all the potential in the world, yet still seems like a nut case. Rather have Bichsel is he develops properly.

Still salty that Kemell went the pick before us…

It's amazing that he went that low. I had him or Lekkerrimaki going to the Wings at 8th OA, but Yzerman inexplicably took Kaspar (but it's Yzerman, so it'll probably turn out to be the steal of the decade in the end).

I had Kemell at 7
I'm very very very High on him
He ultimately fell into Poiles lap, but that was a steal.
Lekkerimaki was hovering around 8 - 12 for me
I knew once the Canucks were up with him still on the board, they'd take him, because, ya know, Alviin,Sweden connection. Even though Kemell is the better prospect.
I knew Detroit would take a weird later rated European. Originally I had them taking Lambert. Just felt like an Yzerman pick.

Was never the biggest fan of Hirvonen but he really impressed me. Really great defensively and can produce some offence also. He’s an incredibly smart player and uses his hockey sense to be an effective presence despite a lack of top-end speed (which he will need to improve) if he hopes to carve out an NHL role. Could see him being a very effective middle 6 winger. The move to LW with HIFK seems to have really solidified his role. Nice to see him carry over that shot generation to the Junior tournament from the Liiga.

Top ten in Liiga CF% and shots per 60. He's in for a breakout season if he gets a bit more shooting luck.

I think I've watched both the McTavish save and Kent Johnson's OT winner about 25 times each at this point. Just insane. Wow, what an ending.
