1 year for Wood, we don't need his contract hurting us next offseason if he can't return to form.

I hope we see a lot more young blood on the roster than this. Holtz, Thompson, Zetterlund, Boqvist are all guys I'd rather see on the roster over Tatar, Johnsson, Bastian and Mcleod at this point. McLeod's status for next season is already pretty questionable.

Holtz and Zetterlund have very real chances of making team out of camp.
I could see Walsh or Okhotiuk there too battling with Smith for that final spot.

Big question for me is how the starts end up getting split up between goalies.

Blackwood 35
Vanecek 28
Daws 12
Other 7

...maybe?

Zetterlund is no longer waiver-exempt, it's all but guaranteed that someone will claim him if sent down.
Anyway, lines look rather reasonable, McLeod is a big question at the moment however.
Would hope that one of Okhotiuk, Bahl or Walsh would have developed enough to play 3rd pair with Marino over B. Smith.

You don't think that Vanecek and Blackwood will be unavailable / not start for a combined 19 games this season, do you?

Track record is not great in recent years. So projecting 35 starts for Blackwood and 28 for Vanecek seem like good over/unders. The 19 game would include Bernier, Daws, Schmid who all could take starts if healthy (Bernier) or if play their way onto team (Daws, Schmid).

Upside case: Blackwood returns to health and form, starts 50-55 games, Vanecek about 20-25.

Downside case: (last year)

Surprise case: Akira Schmid arrives and pushes one of them out of a job.

Likely case: Blackwood and Vanecek split about 65 starts. Daws and Schmid get a handful each and Bernier never comes off LTIR.
