Not to mention that if DiPietro wants out, it's because he's got 3 goalies in front of him (Demko-Martin-Silovs). Coming to Toronto to be behind Murray, Samsonov, Woll and Kallgren seems counter productive, aside from being able to magically disappear cap space.

Willing to bet dubas loses his job in november. I can't see them being better than last year. Heck they might not even make the playoffs this year.... didnt replace Michayev... matt murray as your starter....unproven and risky bottom 6... average d core... Atlantic division will be a blood bath

I feel like Mikheyev isn't at the caliber where "replacing" him is a necessity. Yeah if Marner walks in 3 years then that's a player we would need to "replace", but losing Mikheyev and signing new players to fill his position is good enough. And yes maybe Murray isn't exactly what the fans wanted but it was either him or overpay long term on Jack Campbell who I will point out only had one month of over .900 goaltending last season.

DiPietro would not be behind Kalgren and Holl, and let's be honest here, its more likely that Murray winds up on LTIR for half the year then plays 60 games

Micky didnt do anything worth replacing. Hes been injured more than not. the bottom 6 gets swapped out yearly on a lot of teams, not to mention, the guys people mention that "need replacing" every year on the leafs were totally unproven when they got them. Remember, they got Hyman for Tyler Biggs and Micky for nothing. I have zero issue with the D so long as Sandin gets signed and Holl isnt playing. I 1000% agree the goaltending is a risk, and a huge one at that. Dubas will either look like an idiot or a genius, there's no in between

Holl doesn't make Vancouver's right side any better.

Mikheyev

I’d much rather have Mikheyev who will likely play in the Canucks top 6 and is an impact player rather than give up assets for one year of Justin Holl who will play behind Tyler Myers and probably even Tucker Poolman on the depth chart.

Mikheyev is a much better player than Holl
