Vancouver says no. Calgary says **** no. As much as I’d love either trade to happen it isn’t realistic.

Hard to determine realism in this season considering the prices for debrincat and pacioretty. Just wanted to understand the market from CAL/VAN But I hear ya

Bailey is no use to Calgary, and the 4th covers him. So Kylington for Bellows? No thanks

Klyington impressed me a lot in the post season. I would go as far as to say that he is a poor man’s Devon Toews. That contract was a steal imo.

Would a like for like swap on Beau be more appealing for CAL?

Isles can’t really afford to move Beau rn. They would need him as a piece in a trade for an elite winger. Not the center piece but you need to be able to send a good young player back in the deal.

I find funny how 20 fanbases and their Gms think their team is contending so they go ''all in'' in a ''win now'' season....

Thats the problem though. They need to lose him to fit Kadri (if smoke is true) but also hes the most valuable chip in a trade rn, Id hate to lose him but the reality is no team is paying for Bailey. Look what Bjokstrand went for.

All 20 of those fanbases teams have the same points right now. Whose to say they are not?

Yeah with the isles rn I think Lou needs to show some self restraint. Kadri isn’t the answer imo. They need to see what lambert can get out of this roster before making a big move. Otherwise they need to get Barzal and Sorokin on board with a retool. Low key maybe just tell them both to take it easy and tank for Bedard lmao.

If I look at it in a 3 year window the guy is a gamer and from 32-35 he can be impactful. I try not to worry about the entire contract so idt Bedard/Mitchkov/Fantelli are even a thought for Lou at the moment. They need to get Barzal on board for 23-24 otherwise well have a Matthew Tkachuk situation on our hands.

I agree. But getting Barzal on board doesn’t mean getting older. If anything it means they may need to call up Raty cause I think he is NHL ready. I think that means you give Holmstrom and Dufour a real chance in camp. Same as Bolduc. You have to get younger to win a Cup. Don’t let anyone tell u otherwise.

Real issue is if NY has the young talent in the pipeline that they need to support Barzal.

Agreed. Those cheaper contracts get you there for sure.

Vancouver says no. They have no need for wingers and a 3rd pair right side D doesn't solve there problems.

From Van perspective, if they cant get Miller resigned whats his value?

I have seen Canucks insist on Mayfield being a third pair guy even tho he was in the top four all of last year since Pulock was hurt. Before that he was ahead of both Boychuk and Dobson on the depth chart. Idk that you can overcome that kind of gap in terms of player value on here. A lot of them seem to think Miller is worth two to three assets equivalent to a first. That’s not worth it imo.

I would be asking for at least a 1st and good youngish roster player (ideally C/RD) or top prospect with one smaller piece added on as well

I've talked to Islanders fans that describe him as a third pair guy. Obviously the third pair guy gets moved into the top 4 when another D gets injured. They need someone to play with Hughes

Ideally two of: A top 4 D, A good prospect (Ideally not on the wing), or a first.

If a contract extension is in place I could see either of those being a possibility. Tbh a lot less than I expected and I do feel the price is coming down but if he stays they will get more at the deadline from a desperate team.

I think the issue with that is that he hasn’t played 3rd pair for most of his isles career. It’s an inaccurate description of his role.

All due respect but u may be talking to people who don’t know much about his career. There r a lot of isles fans who jumped on the bandwagon after the ECF appearances.

That deal to Vancouver doesn’t include Barzal, Dobson, 5 1st rounders and UBS Arena. The Canucks hang up immediately before an offer can be made.
