Sounds like a good idea to me, but I tend to agree with you.

For the record, i think it is a fair trade. But ever since acquiring him Habs fans think he is the 2nd coming of McJesus.

Habs just gave up 13th overall and another pick for Dach, now ask yourselves is this worth that?

They paid a big price for him, they aren't going to move him for two prospects they don't need and a mid round pick. Its like a Habs fan thinking Bouchard for Roy, Primeau and a 3rd is fair.

I think it's worth it. First, Bourgault was selected with the 22nd pick in the penultimate draft. He has high potential, he is ready to break into the first team this year, he is French-Canadian, and it's not for me to tell you what this means for the Montreal Canadiens, in addition to him, we also offer a French-Canadian goaltender prospect and a strong 23rd draft draft number three (parity we return to you the asset you gave under the deal with Chicago). And the thirteenth pick of the current draft is definitely not a franchise player, and he will start playing in the NHL at best, play next year.
Among other things, I do not insist on this exchange, we are quite comfortable with Borgault in the roster.

If anyone was paying close to that for Puljujarvi it'd have happened weeks ago. Nobody is interested in him at a price the Oilers can stomach

I dare to disagree with you, a few weeks ago, before the arbitration, the price for Pulujärvi was undetermined, this alarmed other teams, I think this is his real price. Although I'm not a fan of Pulujärvi's trade, I think it's better to keep him in our team.

Just because Montreal overpaid for Dach doesn't mean Edmonton should.

No room for him on the Sens top 6 now, and they are not taking him at his current cap hit for a 3rd line player.

And what about 3 million for a third-line player with an advantage and potential that is useful for the team, is that a lot? Disagree, reasonable contract.

The truth, as usual, is somewhere in the middle. I consider the price given by Montreal for Dach adequate. And I think the price I offered is also fair. Rodrigue is definitely not number one in our system, even in the long run, the third round of even a strong 23-year-old draft is not a loss for our future, I think this is a direct trade from Dach to Borgault with a few nuances, I think the two players are of different types, but comparable in terms of talent. Dach is returning home. While I feel great with Borgault on our team, this swap is just one of the options, if things stay the way they are, I'll be happy with Borgault as well.

Yeah, I'd rather just keep Bourgault + 3rd, to be honest. He's clearly a better goal scorer than Dach.

Rodrigue I don't care about, I don't think he has any value to speak of.
