I mean, everyone is going to come off the books in two years, including Toffoli, but they would be effectively paying Hedman 10m for the next two seasons, and they will still need a Toffoli replacement, a top 6 player will cost 4m if they are lucky, but at least 5m+. They are also going to need to sign Huberdeau.

Tampa will raid Calgary for every top prospect and draft pick and still will want more.. so Tampa says no to any Hedman deal

Hedman is still a top 4 NHL D man, he isn’t being moved even if Sergachev has a breakout season. And certainly not for that lousy return
