Trocheck, he just brings more offensive which is key imo for a top 6c

And you believe both Center's bring about the same level of defensive impact?

Danault’s better defensively but I’d argue overall Trocheck’s better, Danault also more of a 2c while Trocheck could occasionally fill in at 1c

This is a very interesting one-I get why a lot of people would take Danault, there's no doubt that he's better defensively and brings pretty good offense as well, but Trocheck is better offensively and brings pretty good defense as well. I'd personally take Trocheck, as I feel he was overshadowed a bit in Carolina and will absolutely thrive (unfortunately) with NYR.

When has Trocheck EVER been able to effectively fill in as a 1C?

My thoughts as well, but both Danault and Trocheck scored at about the same pace last season, although it was so Danault who exceeded expectations, where as Trocheck was more average for his standard

Yes he’s definitely no more than a 2c

I think Danault is as good a defensive centre as we have in hockey but I like the offensive game of Trochek a bit more, which is why I voted for him.

It's closer than I thought it would be at first glance, but I would still take Danault. I think his better two-way ability makes up for his lesser offensive skill compared to Trocheck. His offensive game really did break out as well once he started playing with a more dynamic player in Arvidsson this season. I think not having to be the guy and getting to play behind Kopitar helped elevate his game.

Interesting, and some say that Trevor Moore's game elevated when he got to play beside Danault
