No from Isles they are not moving Nelson and that is certainly not enough for a guy who just scored 37 goals.

You are not gonna be able to move Zadorov without paying someone to take him.

I don’t agree he is a decent player.

That's a really fair trade here. Chicago will be able to trade him at deadline for something with more value than Stillman.

He is a bottom pair d making just under 4 mil. Maybe your Isles can swoop him up.

Tkachuk isn't a play driver - Huberdeau is. I think he'll have a better year than Tkachuk

Not to mention Palmieri, Pageau, or Bailey (who may be gone already) would all be traded to shed cap before Nelson.

If the isles are on Kadri this year and can't resign Barzal, they don't have choice.
Dube still have 20 goals potential. Valimaki is still a young defensman with good upside.
2nd round pick.

Look at this year trade when a team want to shed cap.
Paccioretty, McDonagh, Kassian.

But they can do both of those things without trading Nelson for scraps.

The Isles have Varly off the books next year, have absolutely no problem paying Barzal an extra 1.5 to give him 8.5 in total.

Bailey is being moved and with the existing cap room have no issue signing Kadri.

The Isles absolutely have a choice and it is to decline bad offers.

Even if they sign Kadri they can definitely sign Barzal next year. Varlamov’s 5mil cap hit comes off the books along with Barzal’s 7mil, so that leaves them with 12mil+ to sign Barzal and a couple other guys

I would do Bailey and a 2nd for Valimaki and Dube, but the proposal here doesn't make sense for NYI.

unless barzal like wins the hart trophy or something this year his increase in salary can be covered by the 1mil increase in the cap next year. they won’t need to shed anything to keep him

Varly $5m is coming off the books next year. Barzal already makes $7m and his pay raise won't sniff $12m. There's your math on him. Next.

Heh. It ain't a W yet. They've simply eliminated the possibility that it's a horror show, which don't get me wrong, is almost like a win in itself.
