That’s not enough for Kane and also weird to attach protection to a pick from COL.

With that being said, any team trading a 1st rounder for a player like Kane will likely be sending an unprotected pick.

The only way Toews get a 1st is if it’s a top team like Colorado going all in at the deadline. Toews is not worth a pick that is likely to be 18th-23rd overall.

Caps pass. They are deep at center. If they move Eller it will be for a 2nd or 3rd. Plus, don't want Toews on my team after being quiet about his video coach sexually assaulting player.

Lol Toews only had 6 more points than Eller last year BUT he will cost us more in salary and we would have to give up a 1st. I would pass also

Doubt he actually does but when you're the most Russian popular athlete the tyrant is going to latch on to you. He can't really say anything with endangering his family.

I doubt Edmonton attaches a pick to Foegele.

There was an NHL insider on TSN1260 recently who opined otherwise.

We'll see, but every team wants more of what Foegele brings: size, speed, physicality and chance creation.*

* if we look at the top 384 forwards by 5v5 TOI last season (32 teams x 12), we'll see that Foegele is

- 113th for iCF/60 (in the range of Lindholm & Iafallo)
- 129th for ixG/60 (in the range of Crosby & Debrincat)
- 139th for iSCF/60 (right behind Palat)
- 145th for iHDCF/60 (tied with Connor)
- 60th for Rush Attempts/60 (tied with Hall)
- 35th for takeaways/60 (just ahead of Zibanejad)

He's a very good 3rd line player and decent value at $2.75M.

Why aren’t teams lining up for him then?

Is Toews way better than Eller? I’m not a huge fan of Eller but when you factor in cap hit (even with retention) I’m not sure there’s a huge difference - definitely not a first rounder.
