Pretty sure they are already just under and that would take away much needed flexibility. Sending off their captain and trading a more ready RHD prospect for a 1st and 3rd is probably not worth it especially with that drawback.

I know he's not, I think this is a pretty fair package when not considering external factors and just looking at skill level and value of prospects/picks. Would love to see this roster take a crack at a cup, they'd be tough to take down

I definitely don't see it as fair. Niemela, the 1st and 3rd are a pretty low offer for both Jenner and Peeke. Adding in 2 cap dumps on top of that means at least another 1st and prospect would have to be going to Columbus.

In the world where you're asking for Jenner and need to drop kerfoot and holl to fit him in. You're literally dumping them to relieve Toronto of the cap. That makes both of them cap dumps. Jenner also has 4 years of contract left so he's going to be around for a significant amount of time. Kerfoot is gone next year so he doesn't provide much value to a team that isn't trying to compete for a cup this year.

Sure, you go ahead and think that Toronto can manage a positive return when they're over the cap and have no choice but to dump players. Certainly Kerfoot with his 1 year of contract remaining will get a good return when Bjorkstrand could only pull back a 3rd and 4th. You're terribly naive if you think that in the current league wide cap situation.

In the meantime, take them both out of this proposal and propose some of those trades to other teams and see what the responses are.
