Nice contract for a potential 20 goal scorer. Good for Nash.

Just the right number. Gives the Predators room for one more significant move. And Trenin has quite a promising upside.

NSH filed for 2 x 1.35 whereas Trenin filed for 1 x 2.4.

NSH gets the 2 years and the AAV is merely 33% higher than what they filed for. This is a good deal for them.

Before seeing Friedman's tweet I thought he pussied out and took a last min deal

But arb awarding an almost in the middle deal between the 2 sides is fine

"Merely 33%" would be a lot if he was in the $6M range, but I guess it's not too hard to take at that price.

I'm surprised that the team wanted two years and the player wanted one. Wouldn't one year have left him a RFA at the end of it?
