Trades doesnt make sense for both teams. Ceci is the Oilers number 1 D on right side next to Nurse. Edmundson may be named Captain this year for Montreal and is their number 1 D on the left side. Habs have a surplus on left D but Edmundson wont be the one traded!

Girard would look great in Edmonton but it's probably a player like Broberg, Mcleod and a pick that goes back. The Avs will have to dump him this year or next as he wont fit in their salary structure. They better do it quickly otherwise his return will go down as we saw this Summer in the flat cap world moving money is very difficult even if the player is very good!

You straight trippin boo. The Avs have ran a salary structure that pays more for defence than I think the rest of the league. At 5m, he fits in quite nicely. There is no rush to "dump" him as his value will only go up as he heals up from his fluke injury. Flat cap or not. Avs can spread the minutes out between 3 stacked pairs.

Thus the bigger return price, I wagered. But if you think they wont have a cap crunch like every other Stanley Cup winner in the next year or two then you are tripping balls

I see that return as a dump for Edm and provides little to no value for the Avs. Not saying there wont be a crunch coming up. It's just the Avs are structured and play an offense from the back end system that allows them to put more money in the D than bottom 6. Having Girard is a luxury they can afford.
