Not paying a 2nd plus to help TBL out of their cap issues… no thanks.

Too much for 1 yr of Severson.

Jets add almost 8m in cap on 2 players for the bottom 6… why? Cap can be much better spent

Devils decline. DeMelo is an inadequate replacement for Severson, a year of whom has more value to the Devils than futures. Lose DeMelo, and it's a deal that the Devils may consider at the deadline should they be struggling again.

I hope DeMelo doesn’t end up as the causality of the cap. He’s always played close to or above his contract and he’s right handed. But if Severson agreed to extend, then it’s probably worth it.
Killorn would be nice. While it’s helping TB, he would help the middle six which is in need of some help.
Gosh, I hope we don’t see too much of CSW this year. I’m hopeful that Bowness will maximize the lineup.

Tampa is only 300k over the cap once Seabrook goes on LTIR and most likely Cirelli and Bogo will go there as well. Tampa isnt in cap hell and dont need to move anyone other than probably Barre Boulet or Fleury down to Syracuse once Bogo and Cirelli return. They are fine

I can't see any team in this cap environment giving you more than one fourth to take that boat anchor of Schmidt's contract off your hands -- especially San Jose, who are over the cap already and have 8 defensemen on the roster, only one of whom is waivers-exempt (and to whom the team is likely to want to give NHL playing time).

To expand on this excellent point. Fluery could have been had by anyone and Barre-Boulett was waived 2xs last year, both should clear waivers and if they don't ohh well!

Tampa doesnt have a cap issue.
A second is a bargain.
Championships are won on depth. Jets aren't going anywhere with current bottom 6.

I personally don’t think that highly of Nate Schmidt. I think he’s overpaid and over valued here. $6 for 3 more years is pricey for him. Sharks don’t have the cap space for him anyway.

Jets aren’t going anywhere with Wheeler, Scheifele, and Chevy… not wasting a 2nd on Killorn…and the Bolts don’t have a cap issue? They’re currently 7.1+m over the limit

Seabrooke LTIR. Cirelli LTIR. Bogo LTIR.
Then when Cirelli healthy ABB or Fluery get sent down. Tampa is in the most comfortable cap position theyve been in since 2018.
