For answers, seek Coleman and Hagel. Thank you come again!

Both were on pace for almost 30 goals when traded. Hagel is like 21 on top of that. Thx for the reply anyhow

And that’s why Hagel got two firsts

I guess if Barabanov scores on a 30 pace then he’s worth what Hagel or even what Coleman got. I don’t see the comp.

Barabanov is a playmaker not a scorer. And trust me, hes vastly better than Kaut at that.

How I know he’s worth a ton more is I’ve never heard of a Kaut until I looked him up. Depth forward at his best. Barabanov has played top 6 in San Jose and played well.

It’s comparing apples and oranges. Different play styles. Hagel was nothing until this season. Coleman was for his physical play. Barabanov is a playmaker who is on a cheap deal this year and next year. I wouldn’t take anything less than this for him honestly. That’s a very late 1st and anything less he’s more valuable to San Jose being on the team next year.

Spent a few productive years in KHL. Is older and probably more trusted by the coach. At $1.25M for two years, its exactly what the Avs need, assuming they don't see Kaut as a fit

Top 6 on a bottom 10 team last year isn’t saying much

Compher: salary x3, guaranteed only one year, best season 33pts. Barabanov superior in all three areas.

Kaut, for some reason despite looking like an NHL player, hasn't had a chance in COL. In SJ, would have room to grow, is younger and cheaper. I see a good fit for both teams.

I'm not saying he would be top 6 on Colorado, that would obviously been stupid. my point is he played well and didn't look out of place on the sharks top line with Hertl and Meier. he's no slouch of a player.

I agree. Barabanov needs the right coach and system, though. He was terrible in Toronto because the coaches never gave him a shot. We had poor forward depth so he was given a shot right away with Hertl and has thrived.

Yeah including being older, with less career production what a great way to spend the only draft pick the Avs have in the first 5 rounds of the 22 and 23 draft years on a 28yr old that has a 46 CF -7.5xGD. I get the cap hit but at some point the Avs have got to fill some spots in the bottom 6 with some homegrown cheap talent, I mean come on they QO’d Bowers and haven’t even given him a single game.
