Garland and olofsson are pretty even.
Myers is a black hole of despair and bad Cap.
So I can't see how Van would decline and buffalo would accept

It's sad really. It's an orphan disease, and big pharma just doesn't wanna put money into research. Just be patient and help when you can.

Garland had more points last year and is younger also with more term left on his deal, Myers isn't a cap dump for us so don't see dumping garland to move myers

Congrats on having more points while olofsson was hurt for about half the year.

By all means don't dump Myers but he is a negative asset

Garland and Olofsson had a difference of 5 games played lmfao and according to insiders Myers has value around the league

Ask any Sabres fan and they will tell you Olofsson played almost half the season injured. He couldn't shoot, which is by far the best part of his game. Go look at the stats:
https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/o/olofsvi01/gamelog/2022

5 goals in his first 8GP. Comes back 3 weeks later. 0 goals in 30 games. As he got healthier, 15 goals in the final 34 games.

The real Olofsson is the one who scored 20 goals in 42GP.

It seems like he has been a streaky scorer his whole career, at best it's a lateral move skill wise with Garland and Olofsson, the contract security and age with Garland makes him more valuable

It wasn't him being streaky. I agree it's a lateral move, though. Being a biased Sabres fan, I'd rather have Olofsson, as I thnk he hasn't even hit his peak yet. I'm sure Garland hasn't either.

The funny thing about value...the Sabres don't want anyone else in Garland's age or older locked up long term. Tuch is the longest contract under Kevin Adam's name. He has 4 years left and is probably a future captain. Garland will be 30 when his contract ends, which isn't terrible, but the Sabres have a ton of good forward prospects coming up in the next 4 years (Quinn, Peterka, Rosen, Savoie, Ostlund, Kulich and more). That's not to say that I wouldn't take Garland on the team today. I just don't know if I'd still want him next year, let alone 3-4 years from now.

In short, the Sabres should be trading forwards for D-men, or a goalie.

Yeah i can see why the Sabres to do it i feel it's a lateral move really for both teams, just really don't see a reason for either gm to be crazy about the deal

Olofsson had about a 1.5 month stretch with a hurt wrist. Look at his stats before and after that stint.

Before and after he was hovering around a point per game.
During that injured stretch it was about .1 per game .. brutal stuff.

For Myers insiders can say what they want. The only thing that he is good at is being big. Everything else he has a negative impact on
