Bear was a top pairing D man in Carolina when he was healthy. Long term effects of Covid and a busted ankle shut that down, but when he was at his best, he was the best Carolina had. You wouldn't be able to get him for a 4th. I'd think it would need a 3rd minimum

Yeah, you're not going to get that. Elite RHD don't grow on trees. Bear could become that if given a chance. Before we knew the extent of his issues in health terms in Carolina, we wanted him next to Slavin because he was a fantastic fit.

I'm sure there's a team out there who'd be happy to give you a 4th in return for Pearson, I just don't believe it's Ottawa. LW and LD are too positions where we are set and have significant depth.

well if i knew that i would be a real G.M. If you can seriously predict future trades you better buy a lottery ticket. But several names have been mentioned on here that are much better than Bear.

Likely Severson. If Islanders do want him Mayfield could play shutdown with Hughes. I'm sure other teams have RD prospects to trade

First off on each of my posts i use IMHO. ( in MY honest opinion.) As a canuck fan Bear is NOT a fit with Quinn Hughes. This is MY opinion.Stick to your own team maybe you know more about them cause you have no clue what the canucks need.IMHO.

Should’ve drafted one for him instead of using your first on another winger

Severson a fit with Hughes? Neither guy plays D well there. Mayfield maybe, but have you seen the asking price from the Isles? I highly doubt any prospect is going to be thrown to the wolves on a top pairing in the NHL right away. Klingberg probably would have been a fit before Anaheim signed him. Maybe someone like Shattenkirk would be a good fit, but again no one there plays defense. Ironically, I think Chris Tanev would be a great fit, but Calgary appears to be trying to contend. Maybe you pay the piper for Weegar? That seems like a very good fit. Cap would be tough... my point is those options are very hard to find. Bear is an option, and when you're talking about players that might work, not all of them are going to be moved.
