Martin St-Louis comes in, plays Caufield and he puts 22 goals 13 assists for 35 points in 37 games. Dubois best season is 28 goals and 61 points … PLD is 24 yo

Dubois wants out of Winnipeg, he wants to be a free agent in 2024. You can’t land a player like Caufield when your hands are tied

Let's not forget that Dubois played for torts who famously got booted from Vancouver for making the sedin twins block shots, super defensive coach and system... then he played a couple weird seasons for Maurice who seemingly quit on the team

Their skill level is currently today on par if not shaded in Dubois favor as he had more experience but I'd rather have the 6"2 210lb centre than the <6" winger

@Khanson you need to devalue your players by half what you wish. To build you team you will have to pay skill and talent. The habs trade by example even with all wishes you will never have MTL 1st overall and Caufield because they are Untouchable, so forget getting both of them in a deal. The Dubois sweeptake have much likely get to it's limit ... both fanbase need to take that off a bit and comeback in few month when everyone will put emotion aside.

Why MTL wouldnt just wait 2 years and sign him as a free agent when he already expressed he wants to play in MTL ? MTL are rebuilding, they arent trying to win now. Suzuki Caufield and Guhle are probably untouchable (I know no one are but you get what I'm saying with that). MTL won't trade blue chip prospect for a guy who just tied the hands of his team. Maybe we will trade for him next summer but it will be a deal built around Christian Dvorak, not a Cole Caufield
