1st could be in 24 as well but Van would definitely ask for 23 initially

Honestly, Leafs pass. Miller is gonna be 30 this year and the back end of a long term deal is gonna be dicey. He's had one superstar year, and hasn't been over a point a game in any other season except one. This is way too much future for the Leafs to give up, Woo is an ok prospect that still hasn't even cracked the line up for one NHL game. Juulsen is well, just Juulsen. A first, a highly touted D prospect and a top 4 dman (along with a serviceable forward on an expiring contract) is not in the Leafs best interest.

Fair enough thanks for the response. That all makes sense to me, I guess it just depends on if Dubas really wants to go for a run or if we wants to stock up his system more.

Anything you would change to make this work? Or do you just think it’s not a fit for either side

I just don't see Miller being a fit, unless it's a rental at the deadline. We've got huge contracts for Matthews, Marner and possibly Nylander coming up, so his cap hit might negate one of those.

Also, if you're replying to a specific post and want to continue a convo, make sure you hit quote for your reply so the other person knows you're looking for a reply, otherwise they don't get notified. smile

Yeah with all those big contracts due on top of already having Tavares with a big cap hit, I’m not sure it works with their money situation either for anything other than a rental.

Also thanks! Definitely forgot to hit quote so I’ll remember for next time 🙂

Miller has been a PPG player since he came to Vancouver. The only reason he didn't hit it in the canada division season was when the team got murdered by covid late in the season. Everyone played like ass after that, and we also ended up playing I think like 21? games in 31 days or something dumb like that.

Though I totally agree Miller doesn't work with TO unless he's a rental.

Absolutely I agree, he’s been phenomenal ever since he got here. That season with covid was brutal for the whole team

Also gotta really feel for guys like Sutter who are still feeling the effects to this day.
