Description
Iunno how good Timmons will be but Sandin is currently better and Hayton for Robertson and then there’s Kerfoot maybe overpaid maybe underpaid depending on Timmons value

Really like the 4th line vet presence like Tampa’s school bus line or the Helm-Cogliano with Sturm line

Why would the leafs ever do that? A top prospect, a good defenceman and a 50 point guy? Leafs decline.

If Robertson was removed from the package, I can see merit in the deal.

Leafs are getting two guys with contract control. Not sure if Hayton = Kerfoot, and Sandin definitely is better then Timmins - BUT, cap crunch + contract control = overpay.

Rasmus Sandin is also a former Greyound so I doubt he would be moved based on that logic

Yea its for future cap concerns. Plus I doubt we'd ever see Robertsons true impact until Tavares is off the leafs roster. Him and Nylander get out played and out chanced so their prerogative is probably signing someone with some defensive impact or size. Hayton could be another surprise like Bunting and Timmons can sit games for Gio while Sandin won't want to. We may end up with 2 frustrated players next off season. And we can't afford Kerfoot right now, Arizona can add a little in this deal if you want but i think the base is there

From what I understand he wants a clearly defined role on the team. Toronto already had 3 left handed defenders and he sat during the playoffs, so I can understand his hesitation to re-sign.

I think a solution would be to rotate Muzzin/Gio.
