Dallas declines. An extra $3M for a guy that's not good at 5v5 is not smart cap management for Dallas, especially when they don't have the cap to spend.

1) Kane has already said he will see how the season goes in a blackhawks uniform. Translation; he wants to see which teams are competitive before waiving for any of them, thus, opening night will not begin with any chance of Kane in a Oilers uniform.

2) The Hawks will be looking for a 1st and top prospect coming back. Holloway (and the 1st) would probably make this come reality if Kane says he will waive for Edmonton, less then that, then unlikely.
