Thats not a question, its the east, and it has been for a couple years.

That's just because the Pacific is soo bad. The Central's been the best division for quite a while. It 100% won't be this upcoming year...that'll be the Atlantic, but the Central was the only Division with 5 teams in the playoffs and won the cup.

I know you're joking, but honestly he won't. He let his ego get the better of him and that's why he left. He didn't want to take a lesser role with Boston even though he ended up taking a lesser role with WSH and then the NYI.

IMO, he shouldve retired a Bruin. He was a staple in Boston for so long, wearing the C and hoisting the cup. He had no reason to stick around and has been kind of a plug. I hate when vets go on through this weird journeyman era. No one will remember Chara as a cap, no one will rememeber Jumbo as a leaf / panther. No one will remember Marleau as a penguin.

Ok that's only used in very very special circumstances...

Although it hurts me as a Canucks fan... this is one of them

Does anyone know the details on the bonuses? If they're likely to hit them they've pushed the cap just to next year. Not a crazy thing to do, but the cap will have to be paid

If they have to pay out all of the bonuses they are giving away today, then they will have less cap space next season, even if the cap goes up $4 million.

Next season will likely start the re-tool. This feels like one final spin with 37/46 before they both call it a career.

So far, I know my math skills are weak, but I've got Bergeron for 2.5 and Krejci for 1.0 equalling 3.5. Bad Pittsburgh Bad. Malkin's contract looks horrible now!! Way to go Boston.

Great price but honestly It doesn't make sense there not in a favorable position to make the playoff with the injuries. Thus Delaying the inevitable rebuild. If they miss the playoffs Pasta, Zacha can both walk as UFAs and this will be looked at a Colossal failure. Unless they sell off at the deadline but that would just be a disservice to HOF Captain in Bergy and Kreji who both took less money to be good.

deal is fine but he is a 4C now. The Czech league is a very average, slightly below average league and he was fine but not a standout.

He also I'm sure wasn't playing his hardest lol. He looked solid at the World's as well. To say he's a 4C now when he's a year removed from posting a 0.86 P/GP in the NHL is a pretty bold take.

20 games into last season the Bruins were written off by many people because they were so low in the eastern conference standings. They of course made the playoffs and took Carolina to 7 games.

"wasn't trying hard"

You'll see...he's a shell of his former self. I expect he'll max out at 30 point this year...He is done.

They might make the playoff but a lot of other teams got better. Bruins will be playing Catch up all year.

I'd argue that some of the teams ahead of them last year even got worse though.

TOR - Downgraded in net while icing pretty much the same team as last year
FLA - While adding MT was nice, they lose Hubs, Weegar, Giroux
TBL - Palat and McD are both gone

Did you watch him play overseas? I did and it was pretty clear that he wasn't give 100% lol. It's also expected that he'll be between Hall & Pastrnak, so he should get 30pts minimum just by showing up to the rink.

Yes sure but you also named the 3 best teams from the Atlantic last season and Toronto didn't really downgrade in net if anything it's about the same. The leafs had one month of good goaltending and it made Campell look a lot better than he is. Those 3 teams were stacked last year. Florida's Defense will take a hit I think but they should still be a playoff team IMO.

For god's sake. Chara played stretches +/-20 minutes per game in WSH/NYI

I remember Chara as a Cap. I have his jersey tee to prove it lol. But I know what you mean. It just wasn't right seeing him in the Caps uni, he should have gone out a Bruin.

and? Great that he did it in stretches, but he still saw his ATOI drop after leaving Boston. He went from averaging 21+ a night in Boston his final two season to averaging under 19 minutes a night in WSH/NYI.
