is this a playoff team

Description
Idk. Marchand, McAvoy, and Grzelyck will be out for a while. That'll probably lead to a bad beginning. Can they play catchup? Can they catchup to Sid and the Pens? Can they catchup to Ovi and the Caps? Can they catchup to Ottawa or even Jersey, Columbus, and Detroit? If this team was healthy to start the season, then they should be a playoff team. I think this season could be very simiilar to the Islanders season last year. Where they have a bad start and by the time they figure things out they are far too behind to catch up.

It's the Bruins. Of course it's a playoff team. As long as Bergeron is leading them they will make the playoffs. They are the definition of consistency.

Considering the East and the Atlantic division specifically is loaded with good teams, I'd say they're about in the same spot as they were last year. OTT, DET took significant steps forward IMO. The Islanders won't be dealing with the covid situation they had last year basically not playing for a whole month. Most likely a 1st or 2nd round team again unless they draw some good matchups in the playoffs. But anything can happen in the NHL

Guess we seeing the same Top 8 in the East once again. (Can't see WSH/PIT dropping out)

With teams like Ottawa and Detroit taking great steps this off season to become relevant teams, and Buffalo continuing to develop properly, I really have no clue what the Atlantic is going to look like this year. My money would be on someone we expect to make the playoffs not (Florida, Tampa, Toronto)

I doubt that the Bruins make the playoffs. They likely have a terrible start, and I doubt that they will be able to make up the difference. Starting the season without 3 of their key players, even though bringing back Berg and Krecji, they aren’t getting younger, so I doubt they make the playoffs. Plus, firing Cassidy was stupid as well.

In my opinion, it will be tough for them to make the playoffs. They're more than likely going to have a rough start and it will be tough to play catch in such a stacked Conference. They missing there most important players and training camp hasn't even started yet.

They are probably competing for the lower wild card spot but if they have a strong second half maybe they make it in the first, perhaps their goalies do steal some games for them at the start and they are fine. I could see them miss though depending on if NJ, NYI, and Detroit make serious advances, WSH is missing Backstrom which may or may not have an impact, but the competition for those wild card spots should be fierce, and if Ottawa is also in the mix there is a strong chance for Boston to miss if they are dropping points to guys in their division.
