I still see flames making playoffs, and the central will probably get both wildcard teams.

I thought the same thing too, but then I realized that the Jets have a pretty decent coach in Rick Bowness

I don't think so, I still don't know how to feel about the Huberdeau trade, I wish we got future assets instead of an aging star. Also our bottom 6 forward group isn't as strong compared to teams like Vancouver or Edmonton

I agree, I thought cgy should've done a rebuild, but they have a very strong d core, I still seem them cracking the playoffs, especially if markstrom can have another solid year.

The Flames really didn’t get much worse. There is no way they fall back that much.

Also Winnipeg is not even close to finishing second in their division.

Heres my prediction for the Atlantic

WC 1 or 2 no idea will be a battle between Boston, Ottawa, Detroit. Boston is there mainly because they will be missing some key guys till Dec-January so Ott or Det could take full advantage (so no idea where those 3 finish but yeah top 3 probs Tor, TBL, FLA in any order)

As for Calgary yeah I see them in the playoffs

Their Dcore got better, Huberdeau should replace Gaudreau perfectly and with his playmaking being better Mangiapane and Lindholm should benefit nicely. Also they got cap to add one more winger like Milano, Kessel, Stasney, Rodrigues, etc so they could still improve. Heck trade out one of the Dman for a forward that could work to. I honestly feel Kings miss mainly due to goaltending. Peterson really fell off and if hes the future there should be real concern in LA as Quick has 1 year left and if he falls off they are in trouble even with the forward upgrades.

Even if this was true (which it's not) you aren't accounting for Calgary having the best D-core in the Pacific by a landslide

I see LA taking a step back. Their old guys just had their best season in the past 4-5 years, they won't repeat. And the youth isn't ready to offset the age-related decline at the top on the lineup IMO. They were 3rd last season with 99 points, I think they drop back a bit and finish with 90-92 and miss the last wildcard spot.

Ottawa slipping into the last wild card spot on the last night of the reg season. I could see it, but that is a tough division. I still believe that with all the injuries that Boston has, there is a chance the Sens can end above Boston & Detriot in the standings.

Fair point, Vegas has a very good d-core if healthy. Calgary's is still better IMO. I do think Vegas under Cassidy wins the division pretty cleanly though
