MIN fans, before you go off, this is an excellent trade for you.

You can't afford Dumba after this year. You're getting 2 excellent prospects, on entry level deals and a decent pick. Both players could be ready as early as this year / next year.
OTT needs another higher end minute munching D, and can afford to pay a steeper price like this.

Let me think à bit.
The Wild are ready to win the Cup? NO
Boldy and Rossy are ready to drive the club ? NO
And Dumba have 28 year old, UFA end of year.
Docker is draft 1st pick.
Sokolov the giant size are 2th pick.
+ 2iem pick.

So,i analyse the Wild need a little bit rebuild.
But i am thinking that, Guerin Who know ?

Ottawa need vétérans def to win the cup.

Ottawa says : YES
Wild says : YES, if they thinking the club are not ready.

I like this for Ottawa, but I'm not sure the WIld would take it. I think they could get a bigger package for Dumba

It's possible, but not probable. Best case scenario is a late first round pick and a prospect from a contender at the deadline. I think this is better for them

I wouldn't say the Wild can't afford Dumba next year, there is some other contracts coming off the books and Dumba will have to take a haircut on his next contract, I am sure BG will see what his extension number will be and if Dumba is not willing to sign in the 3.5 - 4.5 range then I think BG would trade him. But I know Dumba loves Minnesota, BG loves him and he is super great teammate and locker room guy.

I do like this trade the Wild don't really need a whole lot of prospects now I believe we have a top 3 prospect pool in the league but you can always use more. I might swap out Sokolov for Ostapchuk but I really have no idea about the Sens prospects and I have no idea what BG and Judd think of these guys. I would be willing to bet if this is on the table at the TDL and BG can't get Dumba signed for a cheaper extension and there is no better offer on the table he probably takes this deal.
