Next summer, depending on the season Krebs has, it might work, but there is no chance Dubois signs that cheaply.

$8M is cheap for a 60 point player?

Probably best he's moving on if that's what he's looking for, imo he won't live up to an $8M deal.

Well, it's just slightly more that Suzuki is being paid and they put up a similar amount of points and this buys up more UFA years of Dubois, therefore he'll get more.

Its probably going to be another Ryan Johansen contract, hopefully the cap goes up at some point so its not so bad for whichever team ends up signing him.

Having said that I'd rather overpay a true/consistent top 6 player by a mill or $1.5M than overpay a bottom six guy for "intangibles/penalty killing/faceoffs/leadership" that could easily be replaced for probably half the money.
