I feel like Seguin is going to have a better year this year now that they have an actual top 6 linemate for him in Marchment. People forget that last year Bowness had Seguin with Glendening and Peterson/Benn for a chunk of the year, and he was coming off very serious hip, knee, and ankle injuries and still put up 25g and 50pts. Also cant really have two guys making 9.5m+ on the third line.

I don't see the Hawks accepting this trade. Kaner would have to give the organization a 1 team willing list. I don't think that's how it's been going down so far either. Seems like talks are pretty fair. The NYR are a contender and they need exactly what Kaner provides. Besides he's from New York (state) and why wouldn't he go back to Panarin. They're friends.

You'll have to give quality to get quality. If you need to dump Faksa on CHI that'll be more interesting. But higher end talent will win the trade. Not misc pieces.

Hanley isn’t help on defense, not any better than who they already have. Kivi and Gurianov are both too old to be the ‘prospects’ coming back in a Kane trade. Kivi is barely an NHL player. I doubt he has much longer left in this league. Khudobin is a cap dump. Hawks want assets for their rebuild, not whatever this is. This offer gets beat with ease by multiple other teams.

The Stars and pretty easily too
