Who?

Oh, I hate explaining to kidssmile I haven't looked it up by Larry had a very long NHL career and finished in the WHA. Played a lot of bottom six minutes, but before expansion just about 36 NHL Dmen jobs.
Think he had about 22 year pro career. I remember him mostly as a Leaf.

The only name I recognize here is Demin, because he was traded from Vegas to Chicago in the Lehner deal. Anybody know anything about any of these guys? Kinda doubtful any of them are relevant tbh

I mean I’ve heard of Karow, Thome and Stapley but I am a Habs fan and owned Karow/Thome in the GM Game so that’s kind of expected, Karow and Thome suck so they definitely won’t sign, Inamoto was in the Max Domi 3-way though I don’t think he’s much of anything

Ngl, every mock draft I’ve ever done has been 90% autopicks after round 3 lol

Just gotta find a group of people that can’t show up for the draft 😉

I’ve gone head to head with a bunch of fantasy nerds (leagues formed on fantasy discussion boards and everyone’s pretty active lol) for the last couple of years and done pretty well. I’m ready to destroy the office pool at my new company 💪💪

No joke, this was the team I got in the mock draft I just finished (round-by-round):

1. Auston Matthews (Tor - C)
2. Sidney Crosby (Pit - C)
3. Sebastian Aho (Car - C)
4. Morgan Rielly (Tor - D)
5. Jack Campbell (Edm - G)
6. Tristan Jarry (Pit - G)
7. MacKenzie Weegar (Cgy - D)
8. Brayden Schenn (StL - C,LW)
9. Miro Heiskanen (Dal - D)
10. Joe Pavelski (Dal - C,RW)
11. Jesper Bratt (NJ - RW)
12. Jack Hughes (NJ - C) (Yes, actually fell to round 12, even though I had 3 pure C's at that point it was ridiculous to pass him up that late)
13. Valeri Nichushkin (Col - LW,RW)
14. Radko Gudas (Fla - D)
15. Seth Jarvis (Car - LW,RW)
16. Linus Ullmark (Bos - G)

If I got a team like this in a real draft I'd DESTROY the competition, it wouldn't even be fair.

A lot of guys haven't been relevant in a few years. I know a few for some reason

Demin I knew as well for the same reason as you. Never put up big points or made a huge impact so fell off my radar
Tyler Weiss played for the NTDP if I remember correctly, just never made the connection in college.
I saw Josh Ess in a NCAA roster a few years back, but anyone playing in the Ligue Magnus is grimace
Ben Mirageas used to be pretty highly touted (hence the 3rd round selection), he was up for the WJC team a year or two ago, but like Weiss never flourished in college I guess
I heard rumours that Sammy Walker signed with Tampa, idk what's happening there but he's been in The Hockey News' top Bolts prospects for a while
Brandon Kruse was in the same boat as Jack Dugan, pretty obscure pick (NAHL) but eventually put up big numbers in college. It says be played for Henderson last season for 3 games, dunno if that means anything. Hopefully Vegas gives him a chance.
As a Habs fan I was excited for Stapley for a while until I realized we weren't gonna sign him, he's putting up numbers in college now, I hope we do end up giving him a shot.

So Nolan Patrick is going on LTIR (big surprise). Vegas gave up Suzuki for nothing (after losing Patch) and now Glass for nothing. Branstrom went towards Stone. Not a great 2017 Entry Draft after all.

Draft was fine, the "going all in" on expensive veterans after year 1 was the big mistake.

Jfresh is closer but Hughes is way too high and ROR is way too low. I’d also put Shuffles above the guys that didn’t hit a point per game because 80 points is a lot different from 60 (Petey, Barzal, etc.) and he stays healthier than Malkin. Also assuming jfresh had Stammer on the wing.

Jfresh also had Miller on the wing
Shuffles is a unique nickname for Schiefele lol
Jack Hughes should be higher. He's related to LUKE HUGHES!

They're both flawed, but JFresh's is much better than NHL's (Kadri isn't the 14th best C in the league, give me a break-and how in the actual heck did Roope Hintz not make EITHER of these lists?!).

Here's mine:
1) Connor McDavid
2) Leon Draisaitl (How on earth was he 4TH in both of those lists?)
3) Auston Matthews
4) Nathan MacKinnon
5) Sidney Crosby
6) Alexsander Barkov
7) Sebastian Aho
8) Mika Zibanejad

Finally someone who gets it! Hintz is one of the most underrated player in the league, the fan voting proved that. People probably don’t pay attention to him because he plays for a team like Dallas (who isn’t that popular).

Draisaitl is between 4-6 for me. He is a tier 2 center for me. I think MacKinnon, Matthews and McDavid are tier 1. Just based on pure overall skill IMO. Draisaitl, Barkov and Crosby are in the next tier. Arguably Eichel should be in the 4-7 tier if he didn't injure his neck.

How is Draisaitl not a Tier 1 C? The only player with more points than him over the past 3 seasons is McDavid. And neither MacKinnon or Matthews have outscored him even for ONE of those 3 years. It's one thing to tell me that Matthews might be better due to his superior defense, but how is MacKinnon REMOTELY better than Draisaitl?! And to call the man a Tier 2 C?!

MacKinnon is a better skater. Way more explosive. That's the only facet of the game he's better at. Draisaitl is far and away better.

No, Drai’s a tier 1 C ( assuming you see him as a C and not a winger ). There’s no reason to not have him as a tier 1, he’s easily one of the best players in the league

He could put up 15G and 50pts in Ottawa and play on the right side with Chabot . But 2 1sts is a lot to give up , that’s not even mentioning if they want the prospect to be Pinto or Greig lol. If it’s JBD/Brann , then probably acceptable
