Simply because CGY doesn't have the cap to sign him.

Unless they have some prior knowledge like Monahan being unable to play next year or Lucic deciding to quit etc. Something we don't know about yet.

She was, although technically I think she’s off the Flames beat now lol, she got promoted to being the senior women’s hockey reporter for the Athletic or something, and she’s back in Toronto I think, so I’m not sure if she’s still on the Flames beat.
