Sabres pass

Other than Tuch being a hometown boy, the value is ridiculously favouring Buffalo

Ridiculous value indeed.

But makes the team worse for another 2-3 years.

But If this was ever offered there is no way to turn it down. Just throw all the money to pasta or other top ufas. Prowl on teams with a bad cap situation etc.

Honestly I’m not even sure it makes the team much worse. Pinto is nhl ready and can chip 35-40pts while playing high end defence and Greig is about a year from being nhl ready and has high 2nd line potential

As a Sabre's fan I would do the Arizona trade.
"Other than Tuch being a hometown boy, the value is ridiculously favouring Buffalo" I completely agree!
Send Zaitsev (RHD), 2023 2nd and 2024 4th and even if it delayed the rebuild by a year, adding two good prospects along with two firsts, two seconds and two fourths would make the trade irresistible.

No thanks, I have zero interest in Zaitsev’s contract unless we can loan him to Europe.

While the Buffalo trade does skew to Buffalo; Tuch is a non-starter due to his local boy connection and motivation. His arrival and love of all things Sabres finally has given our team a player who loves the team without question and will help influence the team.

Nikita Zaitsev v Buffalo best v Lyubushkin:
Hits/60 6.5..........Samuelsson 7.1.....10.9
BLK/60 5.2..........Samuelsson 4.3......3.8
OZ% 34.1............Samuelsson 40.0....42.5
SH TOI 02:49......Samuelsson 2:18....0:58
OK fine, but he is a Right handed Samuelsson and paid more than Lyubushkin, but they are all physical defensemen and Buffalo could use players as that.
Buffalo could also ice 3 LHD and 3 RHD, just as all four of the cup finalist did, maybe they know something.
I get a second and a fourth for taking his salary and his defensive physical play.
I would not expect him to score but paired with either Power or Dahlin, he could be the eraser of their mistakes.
Let me add, Zaitsev is an all star compared to Bogosian or Rutta.
