Islanders block both Winnipeg and Vancouver’s phone numbers for this one. Terrible value for NYI.

I feel like the barzal move makes sense for Lou.

Miller is far and away the better player right now. However Barzal is the right age for vancouvers build and fits in well with thier style.

Signing kadri for 1 yr lets him get some cash in the bank, but it also makes him prove whether the 100 point szn was a 1 off. If his point totals drop he can be signed for much cheaper next szn or let walk.

Nelson, Pageau, Lee and Palmieri are all getting older, they only have a few years left in their window especially with the bottom line guys being as old as they are.

Miller gives them a better shot here and now.

laugh laugh A 29 years old Miller for a 25 year old Barzal, If Barzal were made available Detroit would blow away that offer by a country mile.

Miller does not give them a better shot to win now, he wouldn't even put up 60 pts on the isles .

Just tell the truth man, you're trying to justify the isles trading the younger and better because its what YOU want

Saying he wouldn’t even put up 60 points on the Isles is not really realistic. It’s not like the Canucks have been very good

It is though , Miller is due to see some regression next season and he won’t be on a powerplay with two of the top 5 PP threats in the league (Hughes + pettersson) .

Even so, he put up 60 points when not on the powerplay. He can drive a line so he doesn’t rely on his line mates. Boeser slumped most of the year, Pettersson was rarely on his line, Hoglander slumped. If a player like Miller can’t even get 60 points on the Isles, I don’t see the Islanders going anywhere in the foreseeable future. What you’re telling me is that the Isles are an offensive black hole

Boeser, Garland , and Pearson were his most common linemates. He’s would see a significant drop off on the isles, without Barzal the isles would be an offensive black hole that’s correct

Elite offensive forward Tanner Pearson. You’re right, no such talent exists on the Isles

That’s just one forward. Garland and Boeser are miles better than Parise/Bailey/Palmieri who Miller would likely play with.

One of his other most common linemates was elite forward Alex Chaisson!

I think Van would have to add a couple of second round picks and you could have a conversation
