Never knew that of course I’m Canadian and I don’t follow up on Americans laws

Yeah, I'm also Canadian, but have to travel for work on a semi-regular basis. As I had mentioned to someone above, the American narrative when it comes to MLB (Jays fan here), continues to be that it's Canadian issue, which is in fact untrue. The percentage of unvaccinated baseball players is a lot higher than the NHL, which has caused a number of them to be unable to play in or against Toronto. You can be non-vaxed and travel through the land borders (With testing and isolation protocols that vary-some teams in both sports have been bussing across the border to hop on a charter in the States to avoid the brew-haha that happens), but yeah, no flying.

Jays and Raptors home games have been great to determine which players are antivaxxers.

It's certainly been comical to listen to the American talking heads trying to spin this as some sort of competitive advantage for those two clubs...as if it didn't immediately take them out of consideration when it came to signing a number of FA's (Lookin' at you, Cy Young winner Robbie Ray!), or trading for certain players (Whit apparently rolled up his sleeve after the Jays traded for him).

Cost of Tyler Bertuzzi? Seeing as how we're not interested in trading our 30 goal winger. The cost is high.

Without Extension: Rasmus Sandin + Matthew Knies
With Extension: Rasmus Sandin + Matthew Knies + 1st Round pick 2023 + 2nd Round Pick 2024

Don't care about the "But he's not vaccinated and it degrades his value" arguments. It degrades his value to YOU. Not to Detroit. Detroit doesn't care what you think his value is. Detroit sets the value. The Vaxx pass thing won't be forever. Not under selling a 30 goal winger in his prime for your spare parts.

Pretty sure the fact you need to be vaccinated to play in Toronto ended some potential deadline deals very quickly for the Jays.
