Description
There are safer and easier trades to be made like Varly or Reimer, but it's Vegas, and you can count on them to entertain.

RFAYEARSCAP HIT
1$2,500,000

Trades
1.
VGK
  1. Bobrovsky, Sergei ($5,000,000 retained)
FLA
  1. Brossoit, Laurent
Additional Details:
Lots of possibilities, they could do Lehner for Bob at 50% which would clear 5m for 2 years. Or VGK can take a gamble, keep Lehner for the 12m+ in LTIR space, and trade Brossoit+ or Alec Martinez or whatever.
2.
VGK
  1. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Was reminded in the comments that Weber's LTIR is already being used, and Vegas is already over the cap.
CHI
  1. Martinez, Alec
Additional Details:
Just to show that Martinez would have to go out in the Bob trade

That's...uhhh...not how LTIR works. You are absolutely $10.69 mil over the cap, or, pre Kane, $100 k over the cap (which would be easier to deal with by simply running a 22 man roster. But yeah, you don't have an extra $12.867 mil in cap space simply because Weber/Lehner are on LTIR.

What am I missing? You’re 1 Patrick Kane over the cap.

😂, it would be entertaining, no? At least if you're not a fan of the involved teams or a Pacific team. I'm sure these trades will give some Vegas fans anxiety.

Edit: You probably were referring to the cap issue, I think it's still off but the Kane and/or goalie trade could involve some more cap being shed.

That's exactly how LTIR works before the season. The more they spend up over the cap and under the players's contract that's what they get for their LTIR pool. The key is spending all that in the offseason. Just not sure though about how the 10% rule above the cap rule applies, guessing there's a window between when LTIR is active and before having to be cap compliant.

Edit: Vegas only has 7m in cap room to sign those two RFAs and replace their goalie, I forgot they are already using Weber's LTIR space.

Maybe lol, I think he might be intrigued with Vegas, if not him though, other interesting options include Hellebuyck or Gibson.

Yeah, I mean, you might want to do the math here again...Your team cap hit doesn't currently include Weber and Lehner because you've placed them on LTIR. Take them off and see where you're at (by my quick math you're at $105.98631, but feel free to check it yourself.

The point wasn't that they could do it all, I did think they had 5m more to work with, but like I said if they traded Martinez in a deal for 5-6m goalie, and got Kane at 50%. They could potentially make significant additions.

I did edit the previous post to say not sure how the 10% offseason rule applies based on when LTIR kicks in.

Yeah, that was exactly my point. I understand what OP was saying but on this post it already has Lehner and Weber on LTIR so they’re not counting against the cap.

Problem was, I didn't account for Vegas already using Weber's LTIR. I also wasn't trying to say, they can take on Bob+Kane's contract without moving like Martinez for example, but my math was still off.

Hellebuyck would be a Kings ransom from the Jets. He's their MVP. Winnipeg would be asking for Mark Stone, who's from Winnipeg.

He has a NMC, just because he's from there, doesn't mean he wants to play there. Plus, Stone is probably going to have more value than Hellebuyck so at best it's a 1 for 1.

I'm personally not concerned about who is traded or acquired, I just enjoy trades, so if there's a blockbuster deal, I'm all for it, chances are that Vegas just goes for Reimer or Varly.

Stone is more valuable than Hellebuyck. A 1 for 1 is a loss for VGK. But I'm not trading my MVP goaltender for anything less. Yea Stone has a NMC. If he doesn't waive to go home. Then I'm not giving VGK Hellebuyck. Eichel would not waive and to be honest he's a bit of a locker room cancer. Pietrangelo likely wouldn't waive either.

Yeah, I meant at best for WPG. I thought you were expecting Stone+ or that a 1 for 1 would be an equal deal.

There probably isn't a trade to be had unless WPG or Vegas is moving Theodore, the guys with NMCs probably aren't going anywhere, especially Winnipeg at this time. Vegas probably doesn't have much of an attractive futures package either. So, Hellebuyck to VGK probably be the least likely acquisition out of the other guys mentioned. I think Lehner for Bobrovsky at 50% is even more likely.
