Only Varlamov and the SJ guys make sense. Price because of his contract, and Bernier and Khudobon are likely done in the NHL. They should give Thompson a shot and upgrade at the deadline if it doesn’t work out.

Even if they can make Price's contract work, he could also be done potentially. If he's not then, Allen is an option for Vegas out of MTL.

Anaheim likely going to tell Vegas to pound sand regardless because of the Dadonov fiasco.

Khudobin is also recovering from hip surgery.

Price ain't leaving and Vegas doesn't have the cap space.

Reimer, Bernier, and Hill don't really move the needle.

Varlamov is a realistic option but Vegas may be on his no trade list.

Vegas really painted themselves into a corner here and have only themselves to blame for it.

Price doesn't work with your cap, and is likely retired due to injury.

Ducks will not give you Gibson at any price, we might part with Stolarz but would make you pay through the nose for it after the Dadonov debacle.

Bernier is also out this season due to hip surgery, likely forced to retire as well

You could take a flyer on Dobby, Dallas likely gives him away for free, and maybe one last ride into the sunset gets his game back, but he has been bad since Dallas cup run.

San Jose would move Reimer before Hill, but Reimer is a strong possibility

Varlomov is the only true starter you have a chance at getting, and if the Kadri rumors are true, they need the cap space. But you will still pay dearly for it because he is the only true starter available, and they will need Broissoit or Thomas going back the other way.

You might also call up your expansion sibling in Seattle, they might have something to trade, though I hear they have some injuries in net.

You probably need a guy on an expiring contract otherwise you are in absolute cap hell next season.

Don't sleep on Yzerman taking advantage of Vegas's situation. Ned is on an expiring deal and if he can flip him to Vegas for a 1st and a prospect, I bet he'd consider it since Vegas is so far up a creek.

If Stevie somehow swindled Vegas out of Logan Thompson AND a 1st for Ned I'd be throwing a parade down Woodward.

I don't think it'll happen, but who saw Ned getting traded for a 3rd, a hologram of Bernier, and a Tubby's original?

It is going to come down to if Lehner's injury is considered career ending. They've released no return timeline, just the guarantee he misses this entire year, which leads me to believe whatever it is is bad, and likely wasn't helped by them pushing him out onto the ice while injured last season. He is a big, blocking goalie who puts a ton of stress on his knees and hips every time he hits the butterfly, and at 31 years old, this could end up being really bad for him. I do hope he recovers, he seems like an awesome dude.

If Vegas needs a new starter for a year or two, their options an massively limited. Varlomov, maybe Murray (yeah, I know, but Dubas clearly saw something there, and Vegas does crazy stuff) maybe Ned, maybe Reimer, maybe you can convince Holtby to suit up for a season.

If its a serious long term issue, I would probably try and get Grubauer. He has shown to be a quality starter when he is on a good team.

Bernier has his own hip problems to deal with and will probably join Lehner at the LTIRetirement home.
