The extra year on McGinn probably sinks the deal I would guess. Plus Foegele seems to be the guy oilers wants to cap dump to get cap compliant. Plus I think you don’t want to put Joseph on waivers. He seems like a likely claim

Well, McGinn has demonstrated his PK ability, whereas Foegele hasn't had that opportunity. However, Foegele is younger, bigger, and can be a strong complimentary forward when he moves into the top six. McGinn is also under contract for one more year than Foegele. I don't think the Oilers would make that swap.
